We're proud to partner with CTI, one of the world's leading coach training organisations. This page explains more about the partnership and how you can benefit from it.
Why we partner with CTI
Coaching is a core part of our approach at Careershifters.
While we don’t train coaches in how to coach, we’re happy to strongly recommend CTI’s coach training programmes for this purpose. We do this because a) we believe in the quality of CTI's work, b) we have a number of CTI-trained coaches on the Careershifters team and c) we’re strongly aligned with CTI’s philosophy and values.
The Co-Active® coach training pathway is considered the most rigorous, ICF-accredited, programme available for professional coaching development. Delivered by expert coaches and supervisors from the world's largest and oldest in-person coach training organisation.
There are 3 stages to the training pathway:
- Intermediate series (Fulfillment, Balance, Process and Synergy)
- CPCC Certification
Each stage builds on the previous and must be taken in sequential order; Fundamentals (FUN), then Intermediate series (INT) and then CPCC, with the previous stage being a prerequisite for the next. Stage 1 and 2 combined, a popular choice package with students, is also referred to as the Co-Active core curriculum.
The level of professional development, accreditation and certification sought by the student determines how many stages they wish to complete.
CTI's coach training pathway is an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP), awarded by the International Coach Federation (ICF).
How you can benefit
Co-Active coaching is a way of communicating at a deeper level of human connection. It involves the active and collaborative participation of both coach and coachee or client, guided by the theoretical and philosophical foundation that is the Co-Active Model.
The core principles CTI teaches in their Co-Active Coaching courses and Certification programme develops the behaviour which today is recognised by neuroscience as the basis of an effective brain: understanding and acting from personal values, learning to see things from different perspectives, and staying mindful of the present moment.
And, the Co-Active Model isn’t just for coaches.
It offers managers, executives, and consultants, the opportunity to embrace coaching as a core competency of leadership, drive greater workplace engagement by championing the talent in others, and therefore increase productivity and employee retention.

What CTI-trained Careershifters coaches say about CTI
“I completed my CTI training in 2017 and it has already brought me more than I could’ve imagined. The training itself opened my eyes to a new way of thinking and being… not only as a coach, but as a human being. It has transformed the way I see the world and the way in which I connect with those around me on a daily basis. As a coach, the core curriculum training, and subsequent certification training, have provided me with a solid holistic foundation in coaching. I feel prepared to support my clients in any way they need. From tackling practical issues to exploring emotional roadblocks, I feel my range as a coach is unlimited, thanks to CTI.” - Sarah Gonzalez, CPCC and Careershifters coach
"I completed my CTI core curriculum training and certification in Canada almost ten years ago. The training was interactive and really fed my soul. I felt well prepared to face a multitude of challenging coaching situations and very importantly how to structure sessions and programmes with clients. I recently started CTI's 10 month leadership programme doing retreats in Spain. It already feels like it will be life changing and a career game changer." - Sarah Dawrant, CPCC & Careershifters Coach
"I trained with CTI back in 2002/03, completing their certification course as well as the initial series of courses. The standard of their training is exceptional. Their course leaders tune in to participant needs and work together seamlessly to meet those needs. The CTI coaching model and tools have a depth to them which equip you to be in the moment with clients and to work with their emotion and "being" in a totally flexible way, as well as get them into action on what they want to change about their lives. So, fifteen years on I feel very fortunate to have chosen CTI for my training and for the capacity that the co-active approach has given me to be present with my clients and to work with them whatever they want from coaching and however they are feeling on any given day." - Michelle Bayley CPCC, PCC & Firework Trainer
