Shift your thinking

By Richard on 16 July 2007 at 23:41 in Careershifters Blog

We're great believers at Careershifters that a successful career change is as much about a shift in your thinking - about who you are and about what you believe is possible - as it is a shift in what you physically do on a day-to-day basis.

We're happy then to recommend Akasha, run by our friends at Triumphant Events. Taking place on 5 August in London, this day-long event will bring together five world-class speakers - Bob Proctor, Dr John Demartini, Chris Howard, Roger Hamilton and Getrude Matshe - who will share their unique insights on how to massively shift your thinking about what is possible to create and contribute with your life.

Tickets are just £39 and you can book them here.

Reporting back from our first "Reignite Your Career" workshop

By Richard on 22 February 2007 at 10:09 in Careershifters Blog

Reignite Your Career, 21 February 2007

Well, our first Reignite Your Career event last night was by all accounts (even with our biased hat on) a resounding success.

Our participants came to London from as far as Peterborough and Brighton, from a whole mix of different current situations - people working in the biggest corporates to the smallest charities - but all with an urge, an itch, a passion to make a shift to doing something more fulfilling in their careers.

And these were a few things they had to say:

  • "Really excellent. Great to know other people feel / have felt in a daze (I'm not alone!) and starting to feel unstuck."
  • "Very postive. A great energiser!"
  • "I found strength knowing that I am 'normal' and that others feel and have felt the same way as me."

So, a particular thank you to our coaches (Holly and Martha) for the two excellent workshops they ran, our speakers (Rob, Cath and Martha) for sharing their warts-and-all stories of their successful shifts, and to Selina, our events maestro, for making the whole thing run smoothly.

More than anything, it was great to see people getting so much from meeting others in the same boat. In fact, we had to almost physically drag some of our participants away at the end of the evening (Note to team: more networking time needed next time!).

If you haven't already done so, you can sign up here for our next Reignite Your Career workshop and if you register before 14th March, you'll get a whopping third off the normal ticket price.

One life - live it now

One Life Live logoGood news. Careershifters is going to be exhibiting at the upcoming One Life Live show, taking place at Olympia from 2-4 March. We'll be on stand K58 in the Retraining Zone, conveniently (?) close to the toilets.

Thank you to James Gradwell on the One Life team for being flexible and helping us sneak in last-minute.

If you're subscribed to our newsletter (No? Shame on you... sign up here), you'll also know that we have ten free tickets to the exhibition, worth £15 each, to give away.

Hope you can make it and if you do, please come and say hello to the team.
