Three months ago I chose six words to sum myself up and the things that are most important to me in life. It was a pretty powerful exercise even at the time but it's only now, looking back at how my life has evolved over the past 3 months, that the full of power identifying myself with those six key words has really struck me. My life has literally adjusted itself to reflect those values completely ...try it out for yourself - it's like magic!

The final leap - into my dream job!

Some people thought I was bonkers leaving a secure job with a healthy salary to take my chances at a fledgling company that could only offer me a basic wage and only for a guaranteed 3 months. But this was my dream job being offered to me - I would have been bonkers not to take it.

After my week's holiday, when I spent my time writing the Careershifters Guide and got to live out my ideal career and lifestyle, work got more unbearable. It wasn't the fault of the people there, or the job. It was a great company and a great job, it just wasn't the job for me and now it stood in stark contrast to that week where I'd got to work in the way I dreamed of.

Writing the Careershifters Guide while doing a demanding day job was tough. Really tough. And not just for me - the whole team were working on Careershifters in addition to full-time jobs. But by taking a week off to work full-time on writing the Careershifters Guide I got experience what life would really be like if this was my day job...and I loved it.

My new job as a recruitment consultant was a great learning opportunity and I was hugely grateful for the income, but after the novelty of the first few months wore off, I was faced with the reality that this just wasn't the career for me - not for the long-term. It was back to the drawing board and time to come up with a new plan...

Back into full time employment

My new years resolution was that by May I would have a full time job and a healthy salary. Not knowing where or how I would do it I set off to find a job that was right for me. Last week, I started that job! Just 2 weeks before my May deadline...

I now feel I have achieved what I set out to achieve. I've proved that working in a way that you love really is possible. Work doesn't have to be hard and it can be so much fun! Now I'm ready for a new challenge. A big challenge. I want to master the art of making money in abundance while doing things that I love.
