This isn't any real development in my career story - merely an add-on really.
I decided to go to an astrologer and have a birth chart drawn up. Don't know why. It's not that I've fallen into the trap of believing in something esoteric because logic seems to have failed. I just like to look at life from many different view points, this being one of them.
I won't go into details of all the things that were discussed because it was a two hour session and all I'll end up with is small novel and hand cramp. :)
No, the most surprising thing to learn was that all the signs were in the half of the chart which points to the outside world, ie my place is to effect change in the world and not to sit at home cogitating about it.
I certainly have been doing something wrong all these years! It definitely fits in with my wish to get out into the world and do some volunteering.
Also, prior to this meeting my cousin suggested that I stop waiting to sell my flat before organising my volunteering trip, and to just start contacting organisations. So I have started this in earnest. I'm particularly interested in working for a fairtrade supplier because I firmly believe that ethical trading is the key to improving a whole other range of problem areas in the developing world. I mean what's the point in setting up grand eco-friendly schemes if the local economy cannot benefit? They won't last very long.
If anyone out there knows of a fairtrade supplier who might like a volunteer to help for 6 months at the end of this year, please let me know. Even if you don't but want to offer some advice, I'd be glad to hear it.
