Hi anon. I'm not a life coach, but I found it useful to ask myself what I would be doing if money was no object. That way I could think about what it is that makes me happy rather than what just pays the bills.
There are some good articles about identifying your values on Careershifters - here's one you might start with: "Values: the internal compass that points to fulfilment": http://www.careershifters.org/node/109
Loads more in Expert Advice...
Also, have you tried posting a question over in ShiftSurgeries? The best get answered by a professional life coach...
Hope that helps.
Thanks Skuft, appreciate the advice, am new to the site and thought that was how you posted a question to the life coaches but have now figured it out and posted it in the right place!
I'll check out that article definitely but in answer to your question I don't think that backing dancer to Janet Jackson is a likely possibility!!
Think this site is really good, glad I found out about it at the One Life exhibition.

Hi, I'm an experienced HR professional with a specialism in recruitment with a postgrad qualification in Human Resource Management. I'm organised, have strong project management skills, am advanced in the usual microsoft software programs, have good interpersonal skills and love people. Unfortunately I feel I got into HR for the wrong reasons....to help people, unfortunately I don't feel I'm able to do this enough (usually being dumped in it at the deep end in particularly stressful situations or in the middle of politics) and I've always wanted something a bit more creative but also utilising my transferable skills. I would even consider going back to studying if it meant enjoying my work more.
I've just bought the book 'How to get a job you'll love' by John Lees and another of his publications, attended the 'One Life' exhibition and am doing research on-line so I'm trying to be proactive but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
