When was the last time I posted a shiftlog? It seems like ages ago, and probably is cause I'm gone from hanging around waiting for it all to happen, to, suddenly it's all going on.
I started my Coaching course on 18th May and spent 3 great days with some even greater people. It wasn't just me that thought that the course would be full of people who came from a different world from my own. In a way they did as there were 7 countries represented in that room if you count Wales, and 8 if you include the guy who thought he was doing a football-coaching course. Anyway, My trainers, jeans and tee-shirt matched in just fine.
Since getting back home, I've realised that I need to concentrate on one thing at a time. It's been fairly clear that trying to learn the material and build a website isn't working. Loads of time has been used getting some nice graphics together, but the problem is, I can't seem to find the words to get over what I'm all about.
Result, Looks OK, says nothing!
I've been asking myself, is it that I don't know what I'm all about yet? Or perhaps I haven't been able to find the inspiration I need at this point.
This is where doing a coaching course comes in handy, we all get free coaching while going through the course. This is how I came to spend a wonderful half hour with my classmate finding ways in which I can get the new business moving forward. It wasn't until that point that I realise how manic, confused, unfocused, unorganised, naive, and bluntly stabbing around in the dark I was. (I want to write in this part that I made him work hard, but the only person working hard was me, because I didn't like what I was hearing.)
The result is that I now know what questions I need to ask. I'm putting together a business plan, and I'm generally slowing down while achieving more.
The web site is on hold and I'm concentrating on putting the structure in place and not bothering with the creative stuff right now.
Boring I know, but I'll have more fun with the creative stuff when I've got something to be creative with.
